MDHHS Awards Contracts to Health Plans to Provide New Dual Eligible Benefit Program 

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) awarded contracts to nine health plans to provide a new benefit plan, MI Coordinated Health, launching January 1, 2026. 

MI Coordinated Health will be available to individuals enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid in select counties in 2026 before expanding statewide in 2027. MI Coordinated Health is the successor to the MI Health Link program, which ends December 31, 2025. Current MI Health Link enrollees will have the option of moving into MI Coordinated Health with no break in coverage. 

The following regions will be included in the January 1, 2026, launch: 

  • Region 1 – Upper Peninsula Prosperity Alliance: Upper Peninsula Health Plan
  • Region 8 – Southwest Prosperity Region: Aetna Better Health of Michigan; Meridian Health Plan of Michigan; Molina Healthcare of Michigan; UnitedHealthcare Community Plan
  • Region 10 – Detroit Metro Prosperity Region – Macomb: Aetna Better Health of Michigan; HAP CareSource; Meridian Health Plan of Michigan; UnitedHealthcare Community Plan 
  • Region 10 – Detroit Metro Prosperity Region – Wayne: Aetna Better Health of Michigan; AmeriHealth Michigan; HAP CareSource; Humana Medical Plan of Michigan; Meridian Health Plan of Michigan; Molina Healthcare of Michigan; Priority Health Choice; UnitedHealthcare Community Plan

The following regions will be included in the January 1, 2027, launch: 

  • Region 2 – Northwest Prosperity Region: Meridian Health Plan of Michigan; Molina Healthcare of Michigan; UnitedHealthcare Community Plan
  •  Region 3 – Northeast Prosperity Region: Meridian Health Plan of Michigan; Molina Healthcare of Michigan; UnitedHealthcare Community Plan
  • Region 4 – West Michigan Prosperity Alliance: Aetna Better Health of Michigan Inc; Meridian Health Plan of Michigan; Molina Healthcare of Michigan; Priority Health Choice; UnitedHealthcare Community Plan 
  • Region 5 – East Central Michigan Prosperity Region: Meridian Health Plan of Michigan; Molina Healthcare of Michigan; UnitedHealthcare Community Plan
  • Region 6 – East Michigan Prosperity Region: Aetna Better Health of Michigan; HAP CareSource; Meridian Health Plan of Michigan; UnitedHealthcare Community Plan
  • Region 7 – South Central Prosperity Region: Aetna Better Health of Michigan; Meridian Health Plan of Michigan; UnitedHealthcare Community Plan
  • Region 9 – Southeast Prosperity Region: Aetna Better Health of Michigan; Meridian Health Plan of Michigan; UnitedHealthcare Community Plan
  • Region 10 – Detroit Metro Prosperity Region – Oakland: Aetna Better Health of Michigan; HAP CareSource; Meridian Health Plan of Michigan; UnitedHealthcare Community Plan
