Initial Settlement Payments are Delayed Until November 2024

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) originally committed to processing FY 22 and FY 23 initial settlements by October 2024. However, the department received more than 620 requests, requiring MDHHS to extend their target payment date to November 14, 2024.

As a reminder, MDHHS offered FY23 Normal Initial Settlements after the newly updated Variable Cost Limit and updated rates were calculated for those who requested them before August 2. They also offered FY22 Revised Initial Settlement (updating the filed rate for October 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022) to any provider who submitted a FY22 Revised Initial Settlement request by August 2. MDHHS will pay the FY23 Normal Initial Settlements and FY22 Revised Initial Settlements at 100% of the determined settlement amount.
