CMS Releases Updated 5 Star User Guide (SNF)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the January 2022 updates to its 5 Star User Guide. The updates included in the User Guide cover the public reporting of weekend staffing and turnover, as well as changes to the exclusion rules for total nursing and RN hours per resident day measures. 

CMS added the weekend staffing and turnover measures to its Care Compare site earlier this month. Each facility now reflects these measures in the View Staffing Information tab located directly below the Staffing Star Rating on the individual facility Care Compare site.
