Care Compare July Release of SNF QRP Data – Now Available (SNF)

The July 2022 release of the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Quality Reporting Program (QRP) data is now available on Care Compare and Provider Data Catalog (PDC).

The data are based on quality assessment data submitted by SNFs to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) from Quarter 4, 2020 through Quarter 3, 2021. This release also resumes the reporting of all claims-based measures. Due to the COVID-19 reporting exceptions, the claims-based measures have been calculated excluding Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 2020 data. The data for the claims-based measures will display data from Quarter 3, 2019 through Quarter 4, 2019 and Quarter 3, 2020 through Quarter 2, 2021 for this release.

Lastly, a new claims-based measure (SNF Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Requiring Hospitalization) will be publicly reported on Care Compare and PDC beginning with the July 2022 release. The data for the SNF HAI measure will display data from Quarter 4, 2018 through Quarter 3, 2019 for this release.

NOTE: the finalized Influenza Vaccination Coverage Among Healthcare Personnel measure will be utilizing data reported for the period October 1, 2022, through March 31, 2023, with a reporting deadline of May 15, 2023. CMS will allow for providers to submit a summary report in April 2023 in lieu of weekly reporting. The association recommends members ensure accurate tracking of staff influenza vaccines for reporting purposes. The facility performance measure will be included as a part of the FY 2024 SNF QRP, with failure to submit data as required resulting in negative SNF QRP payment adjustments for PPS claims beginning October 1, 2023.
