AFC Rule Change Update

The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) has referred the Adult Foster Care (AFC) rules to the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) — a legislative committee established to review administrative rules proposed by the department. The timeline requires 15 legislative days to allow for JCAR to review and approve the change in rules. The timeline started on April 21, 2023. As long as there is no objection from JCAR, the changes could take effect as soon as early June. Read the final rule language here.
