Help Your Residents Get Vaccinated

The American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living Chief Medical Officer David Gifford discusses in a new op-ed and on the AHCA/NCAL podcast “Perspectives in the Long-Term Care” why it is important for residents to get vaccinated against the flu, COVID-19 and RSV this fall. Dr. Gifford encourages providers to build trust with residents and staff as well as work with community health care partners to advance these efforts. In addition, AHCA/NCAL partnered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on its “Risk Less. Do More” campaign, which stresses that getting vaccinated means getting to do more of the things we love, such as spending time with family and friends. AHCA/NCAL’s #GetVaccinated initiative also offers educational resources to help providers encourage residents and staff to roll up their sleeves.
