Initial Settlements Updates

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) provided updates on initial settlement payments:

FY23 Initial Settlements: MDHHS will offer FY23 Normal Initial Settlements after the newly updated Variable Cost Limit and updated rates are calculated. With the increased requests for late cost report filings, these Initial Settlements will not be completed until October 2024. MDHHS asks that all FY23 Normal Initial Settlement requests be submitted to [email protected] by no later than August 2, 2024. MDHHS will pay these FY23 Normal Initial Settlements at 100% of the determined settlement amount.

FY22 Initial Settlements: MDHHS will also be offering a revised FY22 Revised Initial 2Settlement (updating the filed rate for October 1, 1022 – December 31, 2022) to any provider that submits a Revised FY22 Initial Settlement request. With the increase late cost report filings requests, these Initial Settlements will not be completed until October 2024. MDHHS asks that all Revised FY22 Initial Settlement requests be submitted to [email protected] by no later than August 2, 2024. MDHHS will pay the “Revised FY22 Initial Settlements” at 100% of the determined settlement amount.
