New Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship Announced (SNF/AL)

Michigan launched an option to aid graduating high school students in entering career path training through the new Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship. Approved options include roles that are key to long-term care settings, including both licensed nurse (LPN) and certified nursing assistant (CNA) at participating training programs. The Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship offers up to $4,000 over two years for graduating high school students to attend an eligible career training program in Michigan. Candidates must:

  • Be a Michigan resident for at least the immediately preceding year. 
  • Have graduated from a Michigan high school with a diploma or a certificate of completion or achieved a high school equivalency certificate in 2023 or later. 
  • Have not yet earned an associate or bachelor’s degree. 
  • Have not yet earned a degree, certificate or other credential with the Michigan Achievement Skills scholarship.
