ACIP Releases Updated RSV Guidance (SNF/AL)

In the July 21, 2023, issue of Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) released updated guidance recommending the use of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) immunizations for adults aged 60 and older. The MMWR report summarizes the body of evidence considered for this recommendation and provides clinical guidance for the use of RSV vaccines. RSV vaccines have demonstrated moderate to high efficacy in preventing RSV-associated lower respiratory tract disease and have the potential to prevent substantial morbidity and mortality among older adults.
