Bipartisan Medication Aide Bills Introduced
On July 20, Rep. Joe Aragona introduced House Bill 4923 to establish a medication aide registry in Michigan. The bill is part of a bipartisan, two-bill legislative package along with HB 4885, previously introduced by Rep. Donavan McKinney. Allowing for the use of medication aides in Michigan will offer providers a tool to help attract and retain a strong caregiver staff amidst some of the most difficult workforce challenges in the profession’s history. HCAM’s goal is for the bills to move through the Legislature to the Governor’s desk in the next several months. HCAM is working with leadership and key legislators for prompt movement once the legislature returns to session in the coming months. Questions? Email Rich Farran.
