| Notes/Description | TARGET AUDIENCE The recommended audience for this one?day program: Administrators, owners, controllers, accountants, business and finance managers/directors, Medicaid auditors, financial analysts, office managers, assistant office managers and facility staff involved in cost reporting. PURPOSE This program will provide a comprehensive tutorial on completing the Medicaid cost report and is designed for individuals with limited expertise and experience. Participants will learn the filing requirements for cost reports and gain an understanding of how the cost report is used by government agencies for reimbursement purposes and by providers to assist in facility management. A case study format will be utilized that addresses preparation of all cost reporting schedules and required supporting documentation. Participants will also learn how various cost reporting issues can affect facility reimbursement. Attendees are welcome to bring a sample cost report from their facility for use during this training program. QUALIFIED PRESENTERS Beth Sullivan is a senior consultant with the Senior Care & Living Services group at Plante & Moran PLLC. She manages and participates in the preparation of third?party cost reports for numerous Michigan long?term care facilities. Beth also assists in the review and analysis of third?party audit adjustments and settlements, has assisted facilities in the Medicaid appeal process and has provided support in financial analysis projects, including certificates of need and benchmarking analyses for long?term care facilities. Jon Lanczak is a consultant with Plante & Moran PLLC. He concentrates on third party reimbursement matters with skilled nursing facilities. He participates in the preparation and review of third party cost reports for numerous Michigan long?term care facilities and assists in the review and analysis of third party audit adjustments and settlements. Jon has assisted facilities in the Medicaid appeal process and has provided support in industry benchmarking analyses for long-term care facilities. LEARNER OBJECTIVES

HCAM/MCAL members will need to register by mail or fax before this deadline to receive the early registration discount. Members registering after this date will be billed at the regular registration rate. Unfortunately, prospective members are not eligible to receive this special discount. Event Confirmation:After your registration form has been processed, an event confirmation will be faxed to your attention. Please be sure to include a current fax number with area code on this form. Cancellation & Refund Policy:All refund requests must be made in writing by mail or fax to the attention of Mary Campbell. Telephone cancellations will NOT be accepted. Individual registration fees, less a 25% processing fee, will be refunded for cancellations received prior to February 13, 2013. Cancellations received on and after this date, and no?show registrants, will not receive a refund. Refunds will be issued six to eight weeks following the conference. Substitutions:Individuals registered for this program but unable to attend may send an alternate in their place.
